Sebastian County Court Docket Online Search

Sebastian County court docket records are accessible through multiple online systems. The main one is Search ARCourts, the statewide CourtConnect portal. Sebastian County has partial participation, which means some case data is available but the system may not show every document or full docket history for all cases. You can search by party name, case number, or filing date.

The Arkansas Judiciary Case Information System also provides access to Sebastian County case status, party and attorney details, docket entries, hearing schedules, and some downloadable court documents. This system handles civil cases, domestic relations matters, probate filings, and criminal felony cases. You can search by case number, party name, filing date, or case type.

Because Sebastian County has two courthouse locations, always confirm which district a case was filed in before you search. The Fort Smith office handles Northern District cases. The Greenwood office handles Southern District cases. Both districts use the same CourtConnect system.

Sebastian County Circuit Clerk Offices

Sebastian County is one of only a few Arkansas counties with two Circuit Clerk office locations. This dual-courthouse setup reflects the county's size and population. Each office serves its respective judicial district and maintains records for cases filed in that district.

The Fort Smith office for the Northern District is located at 901 South B Street, Fort Smith, AR 72901. The phone number is 479-782-1046. This office handles the bulk of Sebastian County court docket records given Fort Smith's larger population. Most civil, criminal, and family law cases in the county's northern part are on file here.

The Greenwood office for the Southern District is located at 301 East Center Street, Greenwood, AR 72936. The phone number is 479-996-4195. Cases from the Greenwood area and surrounding communities in the southern part of the county are handled through this location.

Both offices accept walk-in visitors during regular business hours. Call ahead to confirm hours and whether your specific record is held at the Fort Smith location or the Greenwood location before making the trip.

Note: Court documents filed in one district are not automatically available at the other location. If you are unsure which office has the record you need, call either office and they can direct you.

Public Records Law and Access Rules

Arkansas Supreme Court Administrative Order No. 19 governs public access to court records in Sebastian County just as it does across the state. Most court case files are public records. This includes pleadings, motions, judgments, and docket sheets. Restrictions apply to juvenile cases, sealed records, adoption files, and certain victim-related information. The clerks at both the Fort Smith and Greenwood offices can tell you whether a specific record is restricted.

The Arkansas FOIA procedures guide outlines the broader open records framework for the state. For court records specifically, Administrative Order No. 19 is the controlling authority. If you believe a record that should be public has been improperly withheld, you can petition the circuit court to review the decision.

Federal court records involving Sebastian County residents are handled through the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas, which is based in Fort Smith. Federal filings are not in CourtConnect. To get federal court documents, use the PACER system or contact the U.S. District Court directly.
